Hide & seek.

Remember hide and seek?
I bet you have heaps of great memories of playing this with your siblings/cousins/ friends when you were a kid.

Players:  2+

How to play:
Give all kids a walkie-talkie.
Players play rock paper scissors to decide who is the ‘seeker’.
Once the seeker has been chosen, they will close their eyes and count to ten.
Whilst the ‘seeker’ is counting the ‘hiders’ will all run and find their best hiding spots.
Once the seeker has reached ten they can open their eyes and try to find the ‘hiders’.
The hiders can give the seekers direction clues to try and find them

Adults: Give the supervising adult a walkie-talkie too so that they can still communicate with the kids as it’s difficult to keep an eye on  them whilst they are hiding (but that’s the whole point right?)

Capture the flag

Capturing the flag is a game of skill and strategy. Create a spin on the classic kids’ game by giving the kids walkie-talkies to add a military operation feel to the game.

Players: 4+

How to play:
Divide the kids into two teams and give both teams a flag to protect.
The game aims to try and snatch the flag from the other team by working together as a team and displaying good strategy skills.
Give each player a walkie-talkie and give every team a designated channel to communicate with each other. The kids can use the walkie-talkies to coordinate on the battlefield and sneak up on the other team.

Adults: This game promotes independent strategic thinking and teamwork! The walkie-talkies can help teach the kids communication skills.
